What is STOTT Pilates?
STOTT Pilates emphasizes anatomical alignment and spine rehabilitation, where we apply modern-day exercise science to restore the natural curve and rebalance the muscles surrounding our joints. Our focus is on developing the safest and most effective programming available, and helping our clients become the most healthy and well-balanced individuals they can be.
Joseph Pilates designed the system to strengthen the weak and challenge the strong. During WW1, he developed the series of exercises and equipment to help prisoners rehabilitate. When he immigrated to New York, professional dancers discovered his conditioning techniques, preventing injury and improving strength while maintaining long, even muscle tone.
